The residences featured range from the 1880s Victorian era through the mid-Twentieth Century. The tour is part of the education mission of the Alameda Architectural Preservation Society .

The tour features narration by local Alameda architecture buff Denise Brady, Even if you did not physically walk the tour, you would gain a lot of information about Alameda architecture through the narration and pictures of each narrated stop on the smartphone/tablet app. People from all over the world are welcome to use this app without actually walking it for an architectural history lesson of the area.
