The Gold Coast and the Shore Before
1025 Sherman St.
Built in 1913 by Architect Julia Morgan Builder: Thomas P. Frost Cost: $8,718
One of several Julia Morgan designed homes in Alameda. This particular house has an eclectic design, featuring Doric columns at the enclosed sun room (originally designed as an open porch) and Gothic-style windows at the second-story gable. The porte cochere also serves as a second-story balcony and leads to the formal entry on the side of the house.
