The Gold Coast and the Shore Before
1205 - 1209 - 1213 St. Charles St.
Colonial Revival-Revival Style built 1922-23 Architect for 1205: J.M. Bartlett Cost: $7,000
These three consecutive houses now occupy what originally was one large lot that extended to the shore, with an 1883 Victorian that was demolished in 1917. All three houses were built in the early 1920s in the Colonial Revival-Revival style popular at the time. The porticos are different, and one house sports a gambrel roof, but otherwise they all feature clapboard siding, decorative shutters, and prominent chimneys.
