Built in 1895

Architect: Marcuse & Remmel

Builder: Marcuse & Remmel

Cost: $2,800

The cottage has stippled stucco in the gable and a rounded front bay with a densely ornate plaster frieze in an oak-leaf pattern. All the porch trim has been removed. An 1896 photograph shows it in its full glory just a year after it was built.

As you look down the street, notice that this 1895 row of houses were the last high-basement cottages in the neighborhood to display Queen Anne styling.
